How to Add a Table of Contents to an Article

This guide explains how to add an interactive Table of Contents (ToC) to your articles in Hinto. Including a ToC makes it easier for readers to navigate long documents and find specific sections quickly, which is especially useful for articles that will be exported as PDFs.

  1. In the Hinto editor, place your cursor on an empty line where you want the Table of Contents to appear.

  2. Click the Add (+) icon that appears to the left of the empty line.

  3. From the block menu, select Table of Contents. Documentation image

  4. A Table of Contents will be automatically generated based on all the H1 and H2 headings in your article. Documentation image

  5. Click the Save button in the top-right corner to finalize your changes. Once saved, the links in the Table of Contents will become active, allowing readers to jump to the corresponding sections.

Summary

The Table of Contents block provides a simple way to improve article navigation. It automatically generates a clickable list of all major sections based on your article's headings (H1 and H2). This feature enhances the reader's experience by allowing them to quickly jump to the information they need, streamlining content consumption for longer, more detailed documents.
