Set your help center's home page and domain

Two settings decide what a visitor meets first, the hero at the top of your documentation home page and the address the site is served at. Everything published here is public, so this is the page for help centers, manuals and blogs.

Write the home page hero and see it laid out

Under Hero Section Configuration, type the title, subtitle and description for your documentation home page. The preview under the fields shows them as you type, in the docs or blog layout the project uses. It previews the hero only, not the rest of the site.

A hintoai.com subdomain, or your own custom domain

A published project is served at its own subdomain, such as acme.hintoai.com, on every plan including Free. To use your own domain, turn on Custom Domain, enter it, and add the CNAME record Hinto shows to your DNS provider. The domain serves once that record verifies. Solo / Small Team includes one custom domain, Growth six, and All-Inclusive unlimited.

Readers search every article

A search box sits in the top bar of every page. It matches article titles and their full text, and a reader viewing a translated site searches that language.

Make the knowledge base look like your product

Two settings decide whether the published site looks like your product: which layout it uses, and how it is branded.

Pick a Docs Layout or a Blog Layout

Set the site to a docs layout, with a sidebar and a folder structure, or a blog layout, with post cards on the home page. The published site renders whichever you choose: the docs homepage lists your folders and articles, the blog homepage lists your posts as cards.

Brand the Whole Site

Set a light and a dark logo, a primary and secondary color for each mode, the fonts for headings and code, and how rounded the corners look: sharp, rounded, or extra rounded. The published site reads every one of those settings. It applies your colors and fonts as CSS variables, loads your fonts, shows your logo in the header, and rounds or squares buttons and cards to match. The logo is also the site icon and the image in link previews.

Get your knowledge base found in search

Every published site serves its own sitemap and a robots.txt that follows your indexing setting. On top of that, two settings: metadata on each article, and one connection to Google Search Console.

Generate a Meta Description and Keywords Per Article

Each article carries its own meta description and keyword list. Generate both from the article's own content in one step, or write your own. Either way, they save with that article and are read when it publishes.

Connect Google Search Console in One Flow

On a project with a verified custom domain, sign in with your Google account once. Hinto verifies your site with Google, adds it as a property in Search Console, and submits your sitemap so Google can crawl it. Ownership verification and sitemap submission both happen in that one connection, not two separate setups.

When you publish, Hinto builds one llms.txt from every article and the site serves it, so AI tools can read your help center as plain text.

Small settings that make a documentation site behave like every other site on the internet.

Redirect Old URLs to New Ones

Add a redirect rule from an old path to a new one, and choose 301 (permanent) or 302 (temporary) for each. The published site checks every request against your rules and redirects with the status code you chose, so links from your old help center keep working after you move.
