Changelog

Last Updated: September 7, 2026

Every product update we send to customers and every security release, newest first. Each entry ends with a Security line that says what changed for the security of your account and data, or that nothing did. How we protect your data today is described on the Security page. To report a vulnerability, email security@hintoai.com.

(rolling out)

Security release: two-factor authentication, audit log, signed webhooks

A set of account and platform security controls, built for enterprise customers and documented on the Security page.

  • Two-factor authentication with any authenticator app, enforced server-side. Workspace owners can require it for every member. Hinto AI staff are always required to use it.
  • A workspace audit log records sign-ins with IP address, two-factor events, membership and role changes, sharing, API keys, webhooks, domains, publishing, deletions, exports, billing and staff actions, kept for 400 days, filterable and downloadable as CSV by workspace owners.
  • Session controls. Sign out every other device from the new Account security page. Session lifetime limits are being applied per environment as part of the same rollout.
  • Workspace roles can be changed by owners, and a workspace can never be left without an owner.
  • API keys are shown once and stored only as a hash, with owner-chosen scopes.
  • Webhooks are signed with a per-project secret (HMAC-SHA256) and must point at public HTTPS addresses.
  • A public Security page and /.well-known/security.txt with a vulnerability disclosure policy.

Security: This is a security release. Deployment is in progress during September 2026, and each control applies to your workspace once it reaches production. Details on the Security page.

Article briefs, edit structure with AI, and one-click alt text

Reshape articles by describing what you want, give each article a brief, and export to Microsoft Word.

  • Reshape an article by describing the change, such as a shorter intro, a new section, three screenshots after step two, or steps the video did not cover.
  • Article briefs say what each article covers, so articles in the same project stop repeating each other. Briefs are versioned and available through the API.
  • Every image and video block gets alt text automatically, editable, so content works with screen readers, search, and AI tools.
  • Export any article, folder, or whole project as a .docx file with branding, screenshots, internal links, numbering, and translations. Also available through the API.

Fixes and improvements

  • Screens keep consistent names across articles and translations. Set your own naming vocabulary per project.
  • Media blocks survive export, edit, and import, including sub-second timestamps and GIF ranges.
  • Generating or regenerating an article no longer leaves it blank.
  • The project context form no longer discards what you typed.
  • Screenshot jobs no longer get stuck, and each one is counted once.
  • A missing screenshot no longer blocks article generation or exports.
  • Audio-only files are refused up front with a clear message.
  • Video timestamps attach to the right block.

Security: No security changes in this release.

Hinto in 13 languages, multi-team workspaces, and dark mode

The product, website, blog, and help docs are translated end to end, and one account can belong to several workspaces.

  • Hinto is available in 13 languages, including German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, from the editor and settings to menus and error messages.
  • Belong to more than one team workspace with a single email. Workspace settings are reorganised into tabs for members, projects, videos, and plan usage. Removing a teammate frees their seat.
  • Deleting a video lets you keep the articles it created or remove everything, and shows which projects use that video first.
  • A refined visual language and an optional dark theme.

Fixes and improvements

  • Partners using the developer tools can push their own translations into Hinto.
  • Articles no longer get wiped blank when generated or regenerated.
  • Usage minutes and plan limits count correctly across teams and mid-cycle changes.
  • More accurate screenshots and correct video length reporting.
  • A failed developer key shows the real reason instead of a vague message.

Security: Removing a teammate from a workspace frees their seat. No other security changes in this release.

More minutes, unlimited projects, minute packs, and simpler pricing

Every plan includes more minutes and unlimited projects, and you can buy minute packs when you need extra room.

  • Basic includes 60 minutes per month, Growth 200, All Inclusive 1,000.
  • All paid plans include unlimited projects, and reused videos do not count toward monthly minutes.
  • Minute packs, valid for 12 months, with bigger discounts on higher plans.
  • New users get 15 lifetime minutes free, then pay as you go without a subscription.
  • Updated Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions to reflect the pricing model.

Fixes and improvements

  • Marketing website styles simplified, with dark mode.
  • Auto-generated, localised table of contents for any article.
  • Duplicate a video media block from the block menu.
  • Numbered lists continue correctly across splits and respect a manual start number.
  • Screenshots in SOPs are anchored to the actual actions.
  • Edited uploads are saved as WebP at native size and higher quality.
  • PDF export no longer cuts tall images across pages.

Security: No security changes in this release.

Hinto now has a public API

Connect Hinto to your workflow, get better screenshots, and edit articles with more control.

  • The public API covers articles, folders, videos, generation, exports, templates, publishing, and translations. Use hinto-cli from the terminal or connect Hinto to tools like Claude and Codex.
  • Each API key belongs to one project, not your whole account, and is created from the project settings.
  • Anchor links inside articles and an automatic inline table of contents. Numbered lists continue correctly when split or edited.
  • Better screenshot rendering across articles, exports, and published pages, with background style, crop, presets, and live preview.
  • Paid plans can remove Hinto branding from exported PDFs.
  • Rename uploaded videos from the video list to make them easier to reuse.

Fixes and improvements

  • Hinto can suggest a project type from your existing videos.
  • Duplicate an image with the edits made in Hinto.
  • Export HTML without inline CSS.
  • Fixed random sign-outs and loading errors.
  • Collaborators no longer hit permission errors in shared projects.
  • Exports, screenshots, and article generation are more reliable.

Security: Each API key belongs to one project, not your whole account. Collaborators no longer hit permission errors in shared projects.

Brand voice, translation rules, and reusing videos

Set a tone of voice per project, keep translations consistent, and reuse uploads across projects.

  • A custom tone of voice for each project, covering length, formality, or the brand rules you already use with other tools.
  • Paid users can reuse uploads between projects. Reused workspace uploads do not count toward extra upload minutes.
  • Translation rules per language define product terms and phrasing, then retranslate all articles in that language in one click.
  • Edit article titles in each translated language for SEO and AI search.

Fixes and improvements

  • The marketing site loads faster and the cookie banner appears more cleanly.
  • Project names show on video cards from other projects.
  • Large Markdown and PDF project downloads are more reliable.
  • Folder slugs are preserved when retranslating content.
  • Re-adding a deleted language regenerates translations correctly.
  • Related article links are checked against real project articles before being added.

Security: No security changes in this release.

  • Choose up to 38 languages and Hinto translates a whole project or individual articles.
  • Hide content in specific languages when a feature is not available in that market, and set SEO metadata per language.
  • Five free tools on the web to transcribe video to text, video to notes, video to blog post, video to PDF, and summarise video.
  • Preview recent versions in history before restoring one.

Fixes and improvements

  • Short recordings capture the right final screenshot.

Turn calls into docs, export PDFs, import Markdown

Meeting recordings become visual walkthrough docs, and any page, folder, or project exports as one PDF.

  • Internal Meeting projects turn a call recording into a visual doc with screenshots, key context, Q&A, and next steps, as a single page or topic-based articles.
  • Export any page, folder, or entire project as a PDF with all images included.
