Welcome to Hinto AI! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Hinto AI website, platform, and services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Hinto AI, a trading name of Vertex Tree LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15229327 ("we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
1. The Service
Hinto AI is a platform designed to automate and accelerate the creation of user documentation. The Service transforms screen recordings uploaded by users into structured, editable content, such as knowledge bases and help articles. Key features include AI-powered content generation, a rich-text editor, content organization, and options to publish documentation to a public URL or export it in various formats.
2. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account. You can register using an email address and password or through a third-party authentication provider like Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
The Service is intended for business and professional use. You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
3. Workspaces and Team Members
The Service is organized around workspaces. A workspace is the unit to which plans, usage allowances, minute packs, projects, and team members are attached. The person who creates a workspace, or who is responsible for paying for it, is the "Workspace Owner."
The Workspace Owner is the party that contracts with us for any paid plan or purchase made within that workspace, and is responsible for all charges, usage, and activity within it, including the activity of invited team members. Each plan includes a maximum number of team members (seats), as shown on our pricing page. The Workspace Owner may invite, manage, and remove team members up to the limit of the applicable plan.
Each team member must have their own account and is individually bound by these Terms. The Workspace Owner is responsible for ensuring team members comply with these Terms. Usage allowances and minute packs are shared at the workspace level and are not allocated per individual member. If a team member is removed, or the Workspace Owner closes the workspace, members may lose access to content and remaining minutes associated with that workspace.
4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Payments
a. Plans
Hinto AI offers a free plan and several paid subscription plans with higher usage allowances and additional features. The names, features, usage allowances, team-member limits, and prices for each plan are set out on our pricing page and presented to you at checkout. These details may change over time; the plan and price that apply to you are those shown at the time you subscribe or renew.
The free plan includes a one-time allowance of minutes that does not reset or renew. Paid plans include a monthly allowance of minutes that resets at the start of each billing cycle. Unused monthly allowance minutes do not roll over between billing cycles.
b. Billing Cycle and Automatic Renewal
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis ("Billing Cycle"). Unless you cancel beforehand, your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each Billing Cycle, and the payment method on file will be charged the then-current price for the next Billing Cycle. By subscribing, you authorize these recurring charges until you cancel. You may cancel at any time as described below.
c. Payment Processing, Currency, and Taxes
We use Lemon Squeezy as our third-party payment processor and merchant of record. This means Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record for your purchase and is responsible for collecting and remitting applicable sales tax, VAT, or similar taxes. All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, and by making a purchase, you also agree to their terms of service. We do not store or have access to your full payment card details. You are responsible for providing complete and accurate billing information.
Unless stated otherwise, prices are quoted in US dollars (USD). The final price payable, including any applicable taxes, is shown to you at checkout before you confirm your purchase.
d. Cancellations
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future automatic renewals. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current Billing Cycle: you will not be charged for the following cycle, and you will retain access to your paid plan until the end of the current Billing Cycle. Cancellation of a subscription does not affect any separately purchased minute packs, which remain available until consumed or expired as described in Section 5.
e. Price Changes
We may change the prices, features, or usage allowances of our subscription plans. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any increase to your recurring subscription price before it takes effect. If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel before it takes effect; if you do not cancel, your continued use of the subscription after the change takes effect constitutes your agreement to the modified price. This Section applies to recurring subscriptions only; the price of a minute pack is fixed at the price shown at the time of each individual purchase.
5. Minute Packs (Pay-as-you-go)
a. What a Minute Pack Is
Separately from subscriptions, you may purchase one-time bundles of processing minutes ("Minute Packs"). A Minute Pack is a single, one-time purchase. It does not recur, does not automatically renew, and does not grant any subscription, plan features, or recurring benefits. Minute Packs add a prepaid balance of minutes to your workspace that can be used to process videos. The sizes and prices of Minute Packs are shown on our pricing page and at checkout, and may differ depending on your subscription plan.
b. How Minutes Are Measured and Consumed
Usage is measured in minutes of processed (billable) video duration. Each video you process consumes minutes equal to its billable duration, rounded up to the nearest whole minute, with a minimum of one minute per video. Minutes are deducted at the time a video is processed. Because processing is the chargeable activity, minutes consumed are not restored if you later edit, delete, or stop using the resulting content or video.
When you process a video, minutes are drawn first from your plan's included monthly (or free) allowance, and then, if that allowance is exhausted, from your Minute Pack balance. Where you hold more than one Minute Pack, minutes are drawn from the pack closest to its expiry date first.
c. Expiry of Minute Packs
Minutes from a Minute Pack expire 12 months after the date of that pack's purchase. Any minutes remaining in a pack at the end of that period are forfeited and cannot be recovered, refunded, or transferred. The expiry date applicable to your purchase is disclosed to you before you complete the purchase. Nothing in this Section limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have in your country of residence regarding prepaid balances.
d. Running Out of Minutes
The Service does not automatically charge you for usage beyond your available minutes. If you do not have enough included allowance or Minute Pack minutes to process a video, the action will be declined and no charge will occur. To continue, you may upgrade your subscription or purchase an additional Minute Pack.
e. Promotions and Introductory Offers
From time to time we may offer promotional or introductory pricing, such as a discounted first Minute Pack for eligible accounts. Unless stated otherwise, such offers are limited to one per account or workspace, are available only to eligible accounts (for example, accounts that have not previously made a purchase), and may not be combined with other offers. We may modify, limit, or withdraw any promotion at any time, and we may withhold or revoke promotional pricing where we reasonably believe an account is being used to obtain it improperly, including through the creation of multiple accounts.
6. Your Right to Cancel (Consumers in the UK and EU)
If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you normally have a legal right to cancel a purchase of digital services within 14 days of purchase and receive a refund (the "cooling-off period").
Our Service, including the processing of your videos and the use of minutes, is supplied digitally and begins as soon as you start using it. By purchasing a subscription or a Minute Pack and beginning to use the Service (including processing any video) within the cooling-off period, you expressly request that we begin supplying the Service immediately and you acknowledge that:
- once the Service has been fully performed, you lose your right to cancel; and
- if you cancel during the cooling-off period after performance has begun but before it is complete, you remain liable to pay for the value of the Service actually provided up to the point of cancellation (for example, minutes already used).
To exercise a right to cancel, contact us using the details at the end of these Terms before you begin using the relevant purchase. This Section does not affect any other statutory rights you may have, including rights that apply where the Service is faulty or not as described.
7. Refunds
Except where required by law or as expressly set out in these Terms, payments are non-refundable.
- Subscriptions: Subscription fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial Billing Cycles, plan downgrades, or unused allowance minutes in a Billing Cycle.
- Minute Packs: Minute Packs are non-refundable once minutes have been used. If we agree to, or are required to, refund a Minute Pack, the refund applies only to the unused minute balance from that pack; minutes already consumed are not refunded, and the unused balance is removed from your workspace upon refund.
- Statutory rights: Nothing in this Section limits your non-waivable consumer rights, including the cooling-off rights described in Section 6 and your rights where the Service is faulty or not as described.
8. User Content and Intellectual Property
a. Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to the content you upload to the Service, including your screen recordings, and the content generated by the Service from your recordings (collectively, "User Content").
b. License to Hinto AI
To provide and improve the Service, you grant Hinto AI a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, process, store, reproduce, and display your User Content. This license is solely for the purpose of operating, developing, and improving the Service.
c. Our Content
The Service itself, including all underlying software, technology, branding, and content provided by us (excluding User Content), is the exclusive property of Hinto AI and its licensors. You may not use our branding or intellectual property without our prior written consent.
d. Your Representations and Warranties
You represent and warrant that, for all User Content you upload to or create with the Service:
- you own the User Content or have all rights, licenses, and permissions necessary to upload it and to grant the license in Section 8(b);
- the User Content, and our processing of it as described in these Terms, does not and will not infringe or misappropriate the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any third party, or violate any law;
- where your User Content (including screen recordings) contains personal information of any third party, you have a lawful basis and any required consents to upload it and have it processed and, if you choose, published; and
- you will not upload User Content that is unlawful, infringing, confidential to a third party without authority, or that contains sensitive personal data you are not permitted to share.
You are solely responsible for your User Content and for ensuring it is appropriate to upload and, where applicable, to make public. We do not monitor, screen, or moderate User Content and are not responsible for it.
e. Publishing and Public Content
The Service lets you publish content to a public web address, optionally on your own custom domain. If you choose to publish, you understand and agree that the published content (including text and any images or screenshots taken from your recordings) becomes publicly accessible to anyone on the internet and, unless you disable it, may be indexed by search engines and accessed by automated crawlers. Publishing is entirely at your choice and under your control; you decide what to publish, and you can unpublish at any time, although cached or previously accessed copies may persist outside our control. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to publish all such content, including any third-party personal information it may contain.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload, post, or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or infringing on intellectual property rights.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code of the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Create multiple accounts or otherwise act to obtain promotional pricing or usage allowances you are not entitled to.
- Use the Service for any purpose other than its intended use of creating documentation.
10. Copyright and Notice-and-Takedown
We respect intellectual property rights and expect you to do the same. If you believe content on the Service or on a published page infringes your copyright or other rights, or unlawfully discloses your personal information, you may send us a notice at contact@hintoai.com that includes: (a) your contact details; (b) identification of the content and its location (for example, the URL); (c) a description of the right you say is infringed; (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law; and (e) a statement that the information in your notice is accurate.
We will review valid notices and may remove or disable access to the content concerned. We may forward your notice to the user who provided the content, and that user may submit a counter-notice. We reserve the right to remove content and to suspend or terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. You may lose access to all your User Content and to any remaining allowance or Minute Pack minutes. You can terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and ceasing to use the Service. Except where required by law, termination does not entitle you to a refund of subscription fees or unused minutes.
12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without any warranties, express or implied.
In no event shall Hinto AI, its directors, employees, or partners be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any statutory rights that cannot be excluded or limited if you are a consumer.
13. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and except where you are acting as a consumer (in which case this Section applies only to the extent permitted by applicable consumer law), you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hinto AI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your User Content, including any claim that it infringes or misappropriates the rights of a third party or unlawfully discloses personal information; (b) content you publish or make public using the Service; (c) your breach of these Terms, including your representations and warranties in Section 8; or (d) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
We will notify you of any such claim and may, at our option, participate in its defense with counsel of our choice. You will not settle any claim in a way that imposes any obligation or admission on us without our prior written consent.
14. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, for example by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. If you are a consumer, you benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you reside, and nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer to rely on those mandatory provisions of local law.
