How to Edit an Image (Crop, Frame, Focus, and Blur)

This guide shows you how to enhance your screenshots using Hinto's built-in image editor. You can easily crop, frame, focus on, or blur specific parts of an image to create clear and professional-looking documentation.

Access the Image Editor

  1. Hover your cursor over the image you want to modify within your article.
  2. Click the purple Edit button that appears in the top-right corner of the image.

Crop an Image

Use the Crop tool to remove unwanted parts of your image and focus only on the most relevant area.

  1. Select the Crop tool from the menu on the left.
  2. Click and drag your cursor to draw a box around the area you wish to keep.
  3. Adjust the selection by dragging the corners or edges of the box.

Frame a Specific Area

Use the Frame tool to draw a colored border around a specific element, drawing the reader's attention to it.

  1. Select the Frame tool from the menu.
  2. Click and drag to draw a box around the UI element you want to highlight. A red border will be added.

The Focus tool helps you highlight a portion of the screen by blurring everything else around it.

  1. Select the Focus tool from the menu.
  2. Click and drag a box around the area you want to keep in focus. Everything outside the box will be automatically blurred.

Use the Blur tool to obscure sensitive data like names, email addresses, or other personal information.

  1. Select the Blur tool from the menu.
  2. Click and drag to draw a box over any information you need to hide. You can add multiple blur boxes to the same image.

Finalizing Your Edits

  • Preview Changes: Click the Preview button at any time to see how the final image will look.
  • Remove an Edit: To undo a specific action, select the corresponding tool (e.g., Crop) and click the red X icon on the edit overlay.
  • Apply Edits: Click the Done button in the top-right corner to save your edits to the image. Then, click Save changes on the article page to save your document.
  • Reset All: Click Reset to discard all edits and restore the original image.
  • Download Image: Click the Download icon in the top-left corner to save the edited image directly to your computer.
