How to Analyze a User Interview Recording

This guide shows you how to transform a video recording of a user interview into a structured, actionable report. By following these steps, you can automatically generate respondent profiles, topic analyses, and a full transcript. You will need a video file of your user interview to get started.

  1. From your Hinto dashboard, navigate to the Create New Project screen.

  2. Under Project Type, select the Customer Interviews option.

  3. Enter a descriptive name for your analysis in the Project Name field.

  4. Click the Create Project button. Documentation image

  5. In the Select video window, click Upload to choose your interview recording file or drag and drop it into the designated area.

  6. Once the video is processed, Hinto will automatically generate a report containing a Respondent Profile, a breakdown of key Topics discussed, and a Full Transcript.

  7. To add a new, manually defined topic analysis, click Add content and select Single article.

  8. Choose a template like Topic Analysis, select the video, provide a name for your new article, and click Create.
